Classic and vintage children's books: stories worth rediscovering

“Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.”

— C.S. Lewis

Some books are meant to be read once as a child and once again as an adult, when you finally understand what you missed the first time. A worn spine, a name written inside the cover in careful child's handwriting, an illustration you'd forgotten until you saw it again: these are part of what makes an old children's book different from picking up a new one.

Our collection includes classic authors like Lewis Carroll and Robert Louis Stevenson, traditional fairy tales and retellings, and well-loved illustrated editions from across the decades. If you're looking for a specific favourite, we also have dedicated collections for Enid Blyton, Beatrix Potter, Roald Dahl, and A. A. Milne.

Every listing describes the book's condition individually, so you know exactly what you're buying. New stock is added regularly, so it's worth checking back if what you're looking for isn't here today.
